A member of the MPLA sought a declaration that the resolutions of the party's 8th Congress, held in December 2021, were null and void, claiming he had been prevented from standing for party President by the absence of an Electoral Commission and the intimidation of his supporters. The Court dismissed the application because he relied on repealed electoral rules, the Candidacies Subcommittee had been duly set up and he had neither gathered the required signatures nor submitted his candidacy in time.
