A member and senior official of the Bloco Democrático (BD) party challenged the decision of the party's National Jurisdiction and Oversight Commission which, in disciplinary proceedings, removed him from his leadership posts and suspended his right to vote and stand in party elections for two years, alleging irregularities, lack of quorum and breach of legality and equality. The Court dismissed the challenge because the alleged defects had not been shown and there was no unequal treatment.
