Justice Júlia Ferreira led a delegation of the Constitutional Court that travelled to the Republic of South Africa to take part, on 19 and 20 September 2023, in the Workshop for SADC Justice Sector Practitioners.
The Workshop, which aims to build the capacity of technical staff and officials of the SADC Superior Courts in the field of media freedom and digital rights, brought together justice sector practitioners from the southern region of Africa in Johannesburg and discussed topics of common interest, notably the application of the principles of legality, media freedom, digital rights, national security and the fight against serious digital crimes.
The Workshop was organised by the Southern and Eastern Africa Chief Justices' Forum (SEACJF), in cooperation with the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit of the University of Cape Town (DGRU), and funded by USAID.
