Seven political parties applied for the legalisation and registration of the electoral coalition VOZ DO POVO. The issue was whether four parties' earlier membership of the Plataforma Política Eleitoral coalition, and the lack of proof that the parties' competent bodies had approved the coalition, prevented registration. The Court granted the application, finding no duplicate membership and holding that equal treatment of parties and the short electoral deadlines did not allow the coalition to be blocked.
