The coalition Voz do Povo submitted its candidacy for the legislative elections of 5 September 2008. The Court had to verify the regularity of the candidacy under the Electoral Law. The Court rejected the candidacy because the coalition had submitted no lists of candidates for the national or provincial constituencies, no candidacy declarations with notarised signatures and no lists of supporting voters, in breach of Articles 52, 53 and 62 of the Electoral Law.
