The National Alliance (AN) party submitted its candidacy for the legislative elections of 5 September 2008 under the Electoral Law. On reviewing the application, the Court found that the party had submitted no candidate lists for the national or provincial constituencies and lacked the minimum number of supporting voters, having none at all in four provinces. The Court rejected the candidacy for failing to meet the admissibility requirements of the Electoral Law.
