The Partido de Apoio Democrático e Progresso de Angola (PADEPA) submitted its candidacy for the legislative elections of 5 September 2008. Having been notified to remedy deficiencies concerning candidates, documents and supporters, the party corrected most of them. The Court admitted the candidacy because the party met sufficient legal requirements, but excluded 136 of the 354 proposed candidates, mainly for lack of a valid identity card, declaration of acceptance, criminal record or voter card.
