The Partido Renovador Democrático (PRD) submitted its candidacy for the legislative elections of 5 September 2008. Having been notified to remedy irregularities in candidates' documents and to complete the minimum number of supporting voters, the party corrected most of them. The Court admitted the candidacy and the lists of candidates, as the legal requirements were met, but excluded 69 of the 177 proposed candidates for missing or non-compliant required documents.
