The coalition Conselho Político da Oposição (CPO) submitted its candidacy for the legislative elections of 5 September 2008. Ordered to remedy deficiencies in documents and supporters, it filed its response within the time limit. The Court rejected the candidacy because the minimum number of valid supporting voters was still lacking in thirteen provincial constituencies and nationally, below the 14,000 required, and because several candidates' documents were irregular.
