The Attorney General applied for a declaration that the party Tendência de Reflexão Democrática (TRD) be dissolved for failing to contest the 2008 and 2012 elections. The party argued that its absence in 2012 resulted from the Court's refusal to record a 2011 congress. The Court declared the party dissolved and ordered its registration cancelled, since non-participation in two consecutive elections was proven and the refusal to record the congress had not excluded its candidacy.
