The Attorney General applied for the dissolution of the party Movimento Patriótico Renovador de Salvação Nacional (MPR-SN) because it had not taken part in the 2008 and 2012 elections. The party argued that the 2010 Constitution and the new Political Parties Law restarted that count. The Court declared the party dissolved, as the requirement already existed under the previous law and failure to take part in two consecutive elections is a legal ground for dissolution.
