The Attorney General applied for the dissolution of the Partido Socialista Angolano (PSA) for failing to take part in two consecutive legislative elections (2008 and 2012). The party argued that the 2010 Constitution restarted the count. The Court declared the party dissolved, holding that the new Constitution did not erase prior political activity, that the law applies only to the future and that the requirement of electoral participation derives from Article 17 of the Constitution.
