The Attorney General applied for the dissolution of the União Nacional para Democracia e Progresso (UNDP) party, which had not taken part in either the 2008 or the 2012 elections. The party admitted its non-participation, attributing it to a climate of political confrontation and intimidation. The Court declared the party dissolved under Article 33(4)(b) of the Political Parties Law, holding that the requirement is objective and applies regardless of the reasons for non-participation.
