The Attorney General applied for the dissolution of the Partido Angolano para os Interesses Democráticos (PAID) because it had not taken part in the 2008 and 2012 elections. The party argued that it had stood through the Coligação Angola Unida (CAU), whose candidacy had been rejected. The Court declared the party dissolved, holding that failure to take part in two consecutive elections is an objective ground for dissolution, whatever the reasons, and that the coalition never actually stood.
