The Attorney General applied for the dissolution of the Partido Angolano para Unidade e Desenvolvimento (PAUD) because it had not taken part in the 2008 and 2012 elections. The party argued that it had joined coalitions for those elections. The Court declared the party dissolved, since it had withdrawn from its coalition before the 2008 campaign and the 2012 coalition's candidacy had been rejected, so non-participation in two consecutive elections was objectively established.
