The Attorney General applied for the dissolution of the Liberal Democratic Party of Angola (PDLA) for failing to take part in the 2008 and 2012 elections. The party cited financial difficulties in 2012 and the rejection, in 2008, of the candidacy of the Patriotic Front coalition to which it belonged. The Court dissolved the party, holding that Article 33(4)(b) of the Political Parties Law sets an objective requirement, so the reasons for non-participation were irrelevant.
