A senior FNLA official challenged before the Constitutional Court the decision of the party's President, later confirmed by the Central Committee, suspending him as Secretary-General and appointing an interim replacement, alleging lack of competence and breach of the party Statutes. As new party congresses had since taken place and a new leadership had been registered, the Court declared the proceedings moot, closed the case and ordered the file to be archived.
