The young people of the Angolan Association of Autistic Persons and Other Developmental Disorders (APEGADA) were received at the Constitutional Court on Thursday, 7 March 2024, by the President of the Court, Justice Laurinda Monteiro Cardoso.
During the visit, which was academic in nature, the young visitors, who have intellectual disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other disorders, got to know various areas of the Constitutional Court and were informed about how the Court works, in a conversation with the President of the Court.
The Angolan Association for the Support of Autistic Persons and Pervasive Developmental Disorders, founded in 2013, is a non-partisan, philanthropic social solidarity institution, founded on the principles of solidarity, respect for the dignity of persons, associativism, a spirit of mission and competence.
It promotes projects and activities of a social, educational, sporting and professional nature aimed at improving the living conditions of people with mental disabilities who are vulnerable to social risk, discriminated against or neglected.
