The President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Laurinda Prazeres Monteiro Cardoso, is taking part from 7 to 10 May 2024, in Braga, Portugal, in the 10th Congresso Internacional do Direito na Lusofonia (International Congress on Law in the Lusophone World), organised by the Lusophone Law Research Network (REDIL) and the University of Minho.
This edition of the Congresso Internacional de Direito na Lusofonia, held under the motto “Current Challenges to Human Rights and the Role of Portuguese-Speaking Countries and Regions”, is attended by renowned experts from Portuguese-speaking countries who, in six thematic panels, will examine human rights and technology; the State, the Constitution and Human Rights; Humanitarian crises, war and peace; Environmental protection and human rights; Crime, globalisation and guarantees; and Personal and social rights.
The Congress aims to promote and reflect on the application of law in its various dimensions, as well as to highlight the links with research and teaching projects in other Lusophone countries that share a cultural, linguistic and legal heritage.
At this edition, the President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Laurinda Cardoso, will chair the plenary session on the 10th, which will also include the participation of Adlezio Agostinho, Adviser to the Constitutional Court, who will speak on the Constitutional Concept of the Dignity of the Human Person.
