The Vice-President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Victória Izata, received the members of the Association of Judges of Angola (AJA) in audience on Tuesday, 18 February 2025.
Various matters were discussed at the meeting, most notably AJA's intention to hold in Luanda this year the Ordinary General Assembly of the International Union of Portuguese-Speaking Judges (UIJLP), an international body born of the combined efforts and will of the judges' associations of Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste.
According to Esmael Diogo da Silva, President of AJA, the UIJLP Ordinary General Assembly aims to discuss and analyse matters relating to the internal life of the organisation and to adopt solutions designed to promote and improve the functioning of judicial systems.
Also taking part in the meeting were Justice Gilberto Magalhães and other officials of AJA and the Constitutional Court.
