The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, opened, this Wednesday in Luanda, the International Conference “Constitucionalismo como Expressão da Independência e Soberania dos Estados” (Constitutionalism as an Expression of the Independence and Sovereignty of States), organised by the Constitutional Court to mark the 50 Years of Independence and the 15 Years since the Constitution of the Republic came into force.
The event, which is being held at the Palace of Justice in Luanda, brings together national and international experts from South Africa, Cabo Verde, Mozambique, Portugal and Turkey, who over two days will carry out a comprehensive and multidisciplinary analysis of the challenges and advances of constitutionalism in different contexts.
On the first day of the Conference, the President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Laurinda Prazeres Monteiro Cardoso, gave the public presentation of the Constitution in braille, an important initiative for the promotion of citizenship and for the inclusion of persons with special needs, which reaffirms the role and commitment of the Constitutional Court to the inclusion of blind citizens.
