A citizen sentenced to imprisonment for aggravated theft lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the Supreme Court judgment upholding his conviction, invoking the presumption of innocence, the principle of legality and the right to a fair trial. The Court found no breach of constitutional principles or rules but, as the appellant was already at liberty, declared the proceedings closed because they had become moot.
