The appellant, convicted of sexual offences against a minor, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a Supreme Court judgment upholding his conviction, alleging disregard of the forensic medical report, irregularities in the amendment of his submissions before the Court of Appeal, and breach of the rights to liberty, presumption of innocence, effective judicial protection and a fair trial. The Court dismissed the appeal, as the conviction rested on his confession and other evidence and the procedural irregularity had not prejudiced the hearing of his appeal.
