SummaryUnofficial

A citizen in pre-trial detention, suspected of fraud, corruption and other offences, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the Supreme Court judgment refusing his habeas corpus application, invoking the right to liberty, the presumption of innocence and a fair trial. The Court found that maintaining the measure breached none of those rights and, as detention had since been replaced by a statement of identity and residence, dismissed the appeal as moot.
