The appellant, a Member of the National Assembly whose term was suspended, appealed against the Supreme Court judgment upholding his pre-trial detention, invoking parliamentary immunity, disproportionality and the presumption of innocence. The Court dismissed the appeal, holding that his term was still suspended when he was detained, so he enjoyed no immunity, that detention was justified by risks of flight and of interference with the investigation, and that a precautionary measure does not breach the presumption of innocence.
