The appellant, who claimed to be a member of the National Assembly, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a Supreme Court judgment refusing his habeas corpus application and upholding his pre-trial detention, alleging breach of parliamentary immunity, the presumption of innocence and the right to liberty. The Court found the detention lawful, with no breach of the principles invoked or of the alleged immunity, and dismissed the appeal.
