A citizen appealed against a Supreme Court judgment refusing his habeas corpus application, alleging that his pre-trial detention without a first-instance conviction had exceeded the legal limit and that effective judicial protection had been breached. In its reasoning the Court found that he had since been convicted and that the Supreme Court had decided his ordinary appeal, so the proceedings had become moot.
