Pumangol, Lda brought an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against an order of the President of the Supreme Court declining to hear its complaint against the rejection, as out of time, of an appeal in labour proceedings. The Court held that the complaint should have been heard and that blocking review merely for non-payment of the late-filing fine breached access to justice, effective judicial protection and a fair trial, and remitted the case to the Supreme Court.
