The appellant, held in pre-trial detention for active corruption, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a judgment of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court refusing his habeas corpus application, invoking equality, access to a lawyer, the showing of the arrest warrant and a fair trial. As he had meanwhile been released after receiving a suspended sentence, the Court closed the proceedings as moot, since the purpose of the appeal had been achieved.
