SILNOR – Sociedade Gráfica, Lda. lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a Supreme Court judgment ordering it to reinstate a worker and pay lost wages, because the 24-hour period given for his defence in disciplinary proceedings had curtailed his right of defence. It alleged breach of the principles of legality, equality and impartiality. The Court dismissed the appeal, reaffirming that a reasonable minimum period for the defence is required by the adversarial principle.
