The appellant, sentenced to a single term of 10 years' imprisonment for embezzlement, tax fraud and money laundering, and ordered to pay compensation to the State and to forfeit assets to it, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the Supreme Court judgment upholding his conviction, invoking, among others, the adversarial principle, the presumption of innocence, legality and the right to a fair trial. The Court dismissed the appeal, finding no breach of any constitutional right or principle.
