VELOSI ANGOLA-Prestação de Serviços appealed against an order of a Justice of the Labour Chamber of the Supreme Court deeming its appeal abandoned for non-payment of court costs, alleging breach of the right of appeal, effective judicial protection and fair trial. The Court allowed the appeal, reiterating that, although requiring payment of costs is not unconstitutional, treating non-payment as abandonment of the appeal sacrifices the right of appeal and effective judicial protection.
