The appellant, detained since 2018 and convicted at first instance without a final judgment, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the order of the acting President of the Supreme Court refusing his habeas corpus application, invoking the presumption of innocence and the prohibition of deprivation of liberty for an indefinite period. As the appellant had meanwhile been acquitted by the Supreme Court and released, the Court declared the proceedings terminated as moot.
