The Public Prosecution Service, representing the Huíla Provincial Health Directorate, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the Supreme Court judgment upholding the refusal of a further extension of the time for filing a defence in an action against the State, invoking legality, adversarial proceedings and full defence. The Court dismissed the appeal, as it had obtained three extensions and exercised its right of appeal, and there were no exceptional grounds for exceeding the statutory limit.
