Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, Limited – Angola Branch lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a Luanda Court of Appeal Labour Chamber judgment declining to hear its appeal because the value of the claim fell within the lower court's limit, applying Law No. 5-A/21 to an action filed in 2002. It invoked the right of appeal, effective judicial protection and fair trial. The Court dismissed the appeal, as the restriction had a legal basis and was not disproportionate.
