The appellant, convicted at first instance and detained for more than 18 months pending an appeal with suspensive effect, brought an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against an order of the President of the Supreme Court refusing his habeas corpus application, citing excessive pre-trial detention. The Court declared the proceedings terminated as moot because the Lubango Court of Appeal had meanwhile reduced the sentence and the decision had become final.
