A citizen in pre-trial detention lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the order of the President of the Luanda Court of Appeal refusing his habeas corpus application, alleging late presentation to the investigating judge (Juiz de Garantias) and failure to follow the statutory sequence of coercive measures. The Court dismissed the appeal, as habeas corpus requires a current illegality and the detention had been validated by that judge, so no constitutional rights were breached.
