The appellant, in pre-trial detention since March 2024 on suspicion of aggravated breach of trust, criminal association and tax fraud, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the decision of the President of the Luanda Court of Appeal refusing his habeas corpus application. The Court allowed the appeal and ordered his immediate release, because he had been arrested without a warrant, questioned late and kept in custody beyond the legal time limits without any reasons being given.
