Grupo Elmatar Justo – Comércio Geral, Importação e Exportação lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a Supreme Court judgment upholding the dismissal of its damages claim concerning a lease of rural land, alleging breach of the principles of equality and fair trial. The Court dismissed the appeal, since the submissions merely made general references to constitutional provisions and sought a fresh assessment of the facts and of the law applied, a matter reserved to the ordinary courts.
