The appellant, sentenced at first instance to six years' imprisonment, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the order of the President of the Supreme Court refusing his habeas corpus application, alleging that the maximum pre-trial detention periods had been exceeded, as he had been held for over 30 months without a final decision. The Court terminated the proceedings as moot because the conviction had meanwhile become final.
