Two appellants, convicted of aggravated homicide and sexual assault, with their convictions upheld by the Luanda Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality alleging insufficient evidence and breach of the presumption of innocence, in dubio pro reo and the right to a fair trial. The Court dismissed the appeal, finding no reasonable doubt on the trial court's part and holding that it is not its role to re-examine evidence and facts as an ordinary court of appeal.
