A citizen convicted in summary proceedings lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the Luanda Court of Appeal judgment upholding his conviction, alleging evidence obtained under coercion, denial of his choice of counsel, breach of the right to silence and lack of reasoning. The Court dismissed the appeal, as neither coercion nor lack of legal representation had been shown, reasoning by reference is not absence of reasoning, and the remaining points concerned the merits, outside its review.
