The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Angola, Justice Laurinda Prazeres, has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Military Public Prosecution Service of Brazil, in the Grand Cross category, the highest decoration conferred by that institution on Brazilian or foreign citizens.

According to the official note from Brazil's Military Justice Prosecution Service (Procuradoria de Justiça Militar), the Chamber of the Order, meeting in ordinary session on 5 August 2025, decided unanimously to award Laurinda Prazeres, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Angola, the Grand Cross Medal, in recognition of her contribution to the development and consolidation of justice in Angola.

Instituted on 26 March 1999, the Order of Merit of the Military Public Prosecution Service is one of the most prestigious distinctions of the Brazilian justice system and is awarded annually at a formal ceremony held at the headquarters of the Office of the Prosecutor-General for Military Justice (Procuradoria-Geral de Justiça Militar), in Brasília.

The formal ceremony at which the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Angola will be decorated takes place next Wednesday, 12 November 2025, at the headquarters of the Office of the Prosecutor-General for Military Justice, in Brasília, and will be presided over by Brazil's Prosecutor-General for Military Justice, Clauro Roberto de Bortolli.
