About 400 people, including students, representatives of civil society organisations, church and traditional bodies, as well as government and local authorities, took part yesterday, Wednesday the 25th, in the Ondjango da Constituição (a community forum on the Constitution), held in the city of Lubango.

The event, led by the President of the Constitutional Court of Angola, Justice Laurinda Prazeres, marked the close of the working programme that the institution carried out in Huíla Province.

For almost three hours, the Justices answered questions put by the participants, providing clarification on matters relating to the Constitution of the Republic. The session was marked by an open dialogue, in which topics related to the fundamental rights, duties and guarantees of citizens were addressed.

At the end, the participants received copies of the Constitution of the Republic, made available in different formats.

The Ondjango da Constituição is an initiative of the Constitutional Court that promotes direct dialogue between the Justices and society, with the aim of strengthening citizens' constitutional literacy.
