The appellant lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the decision of the President of the Luanda Court of Appeal refusing his habeas corpus application, alleging excessive pre-trial detention and breaches of effective judicial protection and fair trial. The Court terminated the proceedings as moot because the appellant had meanwhile been convicted at first instance by a judgment that had become final.
