IMPURSAL – Comércio Geral, Lda. lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a Supreme Court judgment upholding the refusal of its application for legal aid in enforcement-opposition proceedings against the General Tax Administration, alleging a breach of access to law and effective judicial protection. The Court dismissed the appeal, holding that bank statements did not prove economic insufficiency and that stricter proof may legitimately be required of profit-making commercial companies.
