OPS – Serviços de Produção de Petróleo, Limited (Angola Branch) appealed against an order of the Labour Chamber of the Supreme Court declaring its appeal in a labour dispute abandoned because the advance on costs was paid two days late. The Court allowed the appeal and declared the order unconstitutional for breaching effective judicial protection and the right of appeal, since late payment of an advance on costs cannot result in a denial of justice.
