Newrest Angola, S.A. lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against a judgment of the Labour Chamber of the Supreme Court dismissing its appeal in a labour dispute. Although notified twice, the appellant did not file submissions. The Court declared the appeal lapsed and closed the proceedings, since failure to file submissions entails lapse and the appellant's claim could not be derived from the notice of appeal without the Court taking the party's place.
