The appellant lodged an extraordinary appeal on grounds of unconstitutionality against the order of the President of the Supreme Court refusing his habeas corpus application, alleging excessive pre-trial detention. The Court found that he had indeed exceeded the pre-trial detention limit when the order was made, but declared the proceedings moot because his conviction had meanwhile become final following Judgment No. 922/2024, so that his detention was now in execution of sentence.
