The President of the Constitutional Court of Angola, Laurinda Monteiro Cardoso, is taking part in the 5th Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CJCPLP), being held on 30 June and 1 July 2022 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Conference is held under the theme “Guarantees for the Protection of Fundamental Rights in Times of Pandemic” and, among the various topics on the agenda, is expected to examine the report of the organisation, currently chaired by João Pedro Caupers of Portugal. The meeting is also expected to address the state of the Constitutional Courts of the member countries.

In addition to Angola and Portugal, the conference is attended by the heads of the Constitutional Courts of Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste.

On this working trip, the head of the Constitutional Court of Angola is accompanied by Justice Carlos Alberto Burity da Silva and other senior officials of the institution she leads.
